Karriem at the Detroit Jazz Fest

Karriem returned home on September 5th, 2010 to the 31st Detroit Jazz Festival. He played a set with the Robert Hurst Quartet, along with longtime collaborator and Artist-in-Residence Mulgrew Miller. Later in the evening he played to a packed audience with Christian McBride on bass and Benny Green on piano. The trio played a tribute to the late Ray Brown, and Karriem tore up the drums the whole way through.

Karriem joined Diana Krall for her summer European tour. He brought his masterful drum skills to the stage along with Anthony Wilson on guitar, Robert Hurst on bass, and of course, Diana Krall singing at the piano.

One of Karriem’s latest credits has been working with eclectic rap and jazz producer Madlib from Stonesthrow Records.
